Is it worth it?

Maybe you've started counting. How many nights this week, how many you hid, whether anyone noticed. You probably don't think of yourself as an alcoholic, and that word is exactly why you haven't walked into a meeting. You just want it to stop, quietly, without it becoming a whole thing. That's precisely who this is written for. The author tells his own story at length: drinking in secret before his wife woke up, a bottle hidden in the bin under his desk, throwing up in front of the family at his nephew's fourth birthday. He says he's been sober eleven years since. What he's selling is a method you go through privately, at your own pace, with nobody to tell. Take it for what it is. This is self-help, not treatment. What it does well is reframing: giving you words for the urge, a plan for parties, and proof that someone who sounded worse off than you got out. For someone at the earlier end of a drinking problem, that can genuinely shift something, and it costs a fraction of one session with a counsellor. What it can't do is keep you safe. And the promise of staying sober for the rest of your life is the seller's claim, offered without any evidence behind it. Treat it as structure and encouragement rather than a cure.

Pros

  • Completely private, nothing to attend and nobody to tell
  • Written by someone who describes the same hiding and shame, so it lands
  • Cheap next to even one or two counselling sessions
  • You can start the same day and reread the bits that apply

Cons

  • No mention anywhere that heavy daily drinkers can be harmed by stopping abruptly
  • The page never says what actually arrives: format, length, or what the bonus contains
  • The lifelong sobriety claim is stated, not evidenced, and no method works for everyone

What you get

A downloadable programme you work through at home: the author's method for quitting, assembled over years of trial, relapse and picking brains (doctors, life coaches, naturopaths, former drinkers). It's built around handling cravings, getting through social events sober and coping with stress without a glass. Bonus material is promised alongside it, though the page never itemises the files, formats or length.

Before you buy

  • If you drink heavily every day or get shaky in the mornings, talk to a GP before you quit on your own; withdrawal can need medical supervision
  • Check the refund window and how to claim it on the checkout page before paying, since the sales page doesn't spell it out
  • Look for the actual file list and format at checkout so you know whether you're getting an ebook, audio, or both

Who it suits

Someone whose drinking has crept past comfortable and who wants to sort it out privately, before it gets to the point of needing medical help
